He was a native of Montgomery County and lived in Savannah since 1942. He worked in the shipyard as a carpenter during World War II and later became owner and operator of A.L. Adams Grocery Store until his retirement. He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and the Woodmen of the World.
SURVIVORS: a son, Anthony Drexel Adams Sr. of Richmond Hill; a daughter, Joyce Adams Weinzettel of Peachtree City; a sister, Allecy Tyson of Baxley; five grandchildren, Carol Anthony of New York City, Leigh Craft, Matthew Stephen Adams and James Dixon, all of Savannah, and Anthony D. Adams Jr., of Richmond Hill; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 2 p.m. today in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
