Gladys was born in 1906 in what was then the Territory of New Mexico, before it became a state. She grew up mainly in West Texas, in or around the Floyd & Parmer county areas. She met and married Ewin Emerson "Skeet" Clark on July 9, 1927 in Bovina, Parmer County, TX.

After traveling around the country with Skeet's job on a seismic crew in the oil patch, they finally settled down in League City, Galveston County, Texas in the early 1940's.

Gladys was a big family person, and enjoyed family gatherings or during holidays when everyone could be together. She was an avid reader, and would go to the League City Public Library every two weeks. It was not uncommon for her to come home with 10-12 books at a time. She also loved to play solitaire and dominoes, and for many years crocheted as a pastime.

After losing her Husband, E.E. "Skeet" Clark in 1975, she became interested in the stock market. She dabbled with investing, and loved to track her stock picks. She didn't get rich, but she made enough to allow her a comfortable life.

She died after a long life of 95 years on July 1, 2002, and was laid to rest in Forest Park East Cemetery, Webster, Harris County, TX.

Gladys was the daughter of Daniel Monroe and Cornelia BALL Fowler. Her grandparents were Joseph and Elizabeth Ann BRISCO Fowler & Joseph Henry and Missouri Ann GLENN Ball.
