I have been doing genealogy and family research for about 6-7 years, and find it incredibly rewarding. When I started, I knew little about my family beyond my own grandparents, and a couple of G GP's. Through research, asking questions of family members, and help from many nice people in this community of genealogists and researchers, I've been able to piece together a family tree that now goes back as far as 9-10 generations in some cases.
Some of the surnames I'm researching are: Mathis, Clark, Jensen, Fowler, Guthrie, Clemons, Phears, Ray, Ball, Bridges, Prestridge, Peacock, Joiner, Brisco, Glenn, and Smith of course!
I'm a newcomer to Find A Grave, but have found everyone to be very helpful and accomodating. If I can ever be of help for any reason, please contact me. Or, if your family are any of the surnames mentioned above, let's discuss. One thing I've learned is that we're all interconnected and related to many more people than we realize.
