A letter has been received in Quincy [Illinois] from T. H. Adams of Forest Grove Oregon, announcing the death at Carrollton Washington, of his father, John D. Adams, which occurred on February 15, of hemorrhage of the lungs, after an illness of only one day.
The deceased was a member of Company D, Fiftieth Illinois, and served through the war of the rebellion with credit and distinction. There are many of his old comrades living in and near Quincy who will be pained to learn of his death.
He is survived by his wife and five children, all of whom live in Carrollton, with the exception of T. H. Adams, who forwards the intelligence of the demise of his father.
