AMENDOLA Jessie Crews Amendola, 91, of Jacksonville, passed away peacefully in Jacksonville on February 22, 2009 at the Westminster Woods Retirement Community. She was born April 18, 1917 in Jacksonville, FL and was one of eleven children born to Francis and Salina Wilson. She was a graduate of the Robert E. Lee High School. She lived in west Jacksonville for most of her adult life before spending some retirement years in the Deleon Springs and Deland areas of central Florida. A devout Christian, Jessie was active in the church wherever she lived, but especially at the Woodstock Church of Christ. She was a great mom to her sons and also helped her husband "Ollie" in several business ventures in west Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her first husband, "Ollie" Crews; second husband, George Amendola; son, John Crews; brothers, James Wilson, Herman Wilson, Cory Wilson, and Willis Wilson; sisters, Natalie Gatlin, and Doris Houchen; and a granddaughter, Windi Crews. Jessie is survived by sisters; Louise Gregson, Eunice Schlenker, Annie Gilner; and brother, Jake Wilson; son Cliff Crews; daughters-in-law, Trecia Crews and Barbara Crews; and grandchildren, Lynne Kindler, Kim Quigley, and Chris Crews. The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 27, 2009 at Masters Funeral Home of Interlachen from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm with funeral services starting at 2:00 pm with Pastor Charles Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Pineview Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be sent to The Missions' Fund at Christ's Church, 6405 Greenland Road, Jacksonville, FL 32258.
