Grand Rapids Press, The (MI) - May 26, 2003Deceased Name: Betty Aussicker Visitation is Tuesday for Betty Aussicker, 79. The Zeeland resident died Saturday, May 24, 2003, at her home. She was a member of Maranatha Christian Reformed Church, where she was a former Calvinettes counselor. She had worked at the 58th District Court and was a college admissions counselor at Holland High School. She was in the Civil Air Patrol, and trained as a navigator during World War II. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jack; children, Lonn Aussicker of Silver Springs, Md., Dr. David and Jan Aussicker of Midland, Betty Lynn and Greg Hurd of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; six grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Ida Van Sweden of Byron Center, Bert and Betty Bruursema of Glenn, Betty and Paul Douma of Zeeland, Ivan and Dorothy McClure of Howard City, Larry and Gret Bruursema of Jenison, Arlene and Will Kloosterman, Ron and Rose Kuyers, Wesley and Pat Kuyers, all of Holland, Sherry and Marvin De Wendt of Jenison, Bonnie and Norm Vredeveld of Zeeland; brothers-in-law, David Boone, Harold Aussicker, both of Holland, Carl and Jo Aussicker of Jenison; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church, with the Rev. John De Vries officiating. Burial is in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Mulder Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes Inc., 188 W. 32nd St., Holland. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
