Mrs. Carmelita Devine, mother of James and Robert Devine, two well-known musicians, died at midnight, last night at her residence in old town from pneumonia, aged 66 years. On October 25, 1895, Sergeant John Devine, her husband died and was buried the next day, and now the sons are called upon to lay beside their father their honored and respected mother. The funeral will take place tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock at the old town cathedral, burial at Santa Barbara cemetery, and all friends are invited to attend.
James Devine is husband of Rebecca Gutierrez Devine. She is the daughter of Jesusita and Juan Gutierrez. Robert Devine is the husband of Luisa Armijo Devine. She is the grand-daughter of Jesusita and Juan Gutierrez.
