James Dock Adams, a son of Emerson Etheridge Adams and Lydia Penix, died in Swedish-American Hospital after a lengthy illness.
The name of his first wife is unknown. They had one son named James Emerson Adams also known as "Sonny" or "Jimmy".
Survived by his second wife, Mary Geneva Mitchell Adams; also survived by his only son, James Emerson Adams, and wife Janet of Loves Park, Illinois and two adopted grandsons, Tim Adams and Steve Adams of Loves Park, Illinois.
"Uncle Jim" came from a very large family of sixteen brothers and sisters; many are half brothers and/or half sisters. One sister was named Grace Watson Adams Moore Cable who died in 1973 in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; she was my grandmother. Another sister was Elizabeth Adams Gillespie of Cincinnati, Ohio, plus many others. Locally he was survived by several nieces and spouses; Stella Ellis, Thelma Smiddy, Mary Edith Webster and their families. Other nieces are Pauline Rowe, Maxine Rambo, Berniece McLean, Kathryn White, plus one nephew, Martin D. Moore.

Funeral arrangements were by Delehanty Funeral Home in Loves Park, Illinois.
