Arlene Alora Jones was born in Osceola, Iowa on April 6, 1908; the daughter of Tilden James and Florence Irene (McBride) Jones. In 1910, the family moved to Manderson, where her father was a rancher. Because of her father's health, the family moved to Basin, where he worked as a county assessor for several years.

In 1925 the family moved to Douglas, where her father owned the Pepsi-Cola plant. While attending high school, she worked for County Agent A. E. Hyde and Home Demonstration Agent Gayle Neubauer Shaw with the Agricultural Extension Service. She graduated from Douglas High School in 1927. After graduating she worked as a bookkeeper, stenographer and accountant for numerous associations, county and state governments and worked many years for the federal government.

On Nov. 7, 1940, she married Nelson Clare Albaugh, residing in Douglas for more than 50 years. Mr. Albaugh died Jan. 31, 1991.

Mrs. Albaugh was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary and of the Ladies of the Moose and was a member of the Senior Citizen's Foundation; Wyoming Pioneer Association; Douglas Zonta Club; Douglas Country Club; and First United Methodist Church since 1927.

Mrs. Albaugh is survived by nephew Jeffrey Jones of Dana Point, Calif.; niece Patricia Jones Missett of Carlsbad, Calif.; great-niece Dana Rashid, Ph.D.; great-nephews Michael Jones, Jeffrey Missett and William Missett III; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother Burl W. and his wife Marion P. Jones; sisters Verena Althea Standerferd and Chloris Pauline Jones-Rush; nephew Leland Eugene Standerferd; and several cousins.
