Robert T. Alexander, formerly chief of the East Brunswick Independent Fire Company, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, at University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, Philadelphia. He was 47.
Born in New Brunswick, he resided most of his live in East Brunswick before moving to Spotswood three years ago. He was employed by the East Brunswick Public Works Department for many years.
Robby was a former chief of the East Brunswick Independent Fire Company and a life member. He was a communicant of St. Mary of Ostrabrama R.C. Church, South RIver.
Robby was an avid Notre Dame Football fan and enjoyed many Saturdays rooting for Notre Dame with his family.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony Alexander and Ruth Warnsdorfer Alexander, both in August 2006, and his brother-in-law, Jerry Wieciek, in July 2006, and his goddaughter, Kelly Ann Alexander in 2003.
Surviving are his fiancee, Rose DiCara; a son Robert Jr., and a daughter, Lauren, both of East Brunswick; two brothers, Anthony Alexander Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of East Brunswick, David Alexander and his wife, Lynn, of Yardley, Pa.; two sisters, Mary Beth Wieciek of Spotswood and Barbara Biernacki and her husband, Zigmond, of Odessa, Fla. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Anthony III, Theresa and Joseph Alexander, Joseph Wieciek, Daniel and Katie Biernacki and Megan Alexander.
Funeral service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Sept, 26, at Brunswick Memorial Home, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. mary of Ostrabrama R.C. Church, South River. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Monroe Township. Friends may call on Monday, Sept. 25, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church Building Fund, 30 Jackson St., South River, N.J. 08882..
