Trueman Adams, 64, of Maryville, died 12:20 p.m. Tuesday at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.
He was an insurance agent with Standard Life Insurance Company.
Adams was a member of New Providence Masonic Lodge No. 128 F&AM, U.S. Navy veteran, retired employee of ALCOA and member of ALCOA 25-Year Club.
Survivors incude: wife, LaVerne Hinshaw Adams, sons, Alvin Adams of Knoxville, Gary Adams of Florence, Ala., Kevin Adams of Maryville, daughters, Janice Adams Sams of Lancaster, Pa, Alta Adams Hetman of Knoxville; two granddaughters, Andrea Hetman, Frances Diane Adams; three grandsons, Trueman Daniel Adams, Corey Allen Adams, Lucas Tyler Adams; brother, Carson Adams of Las Vegas, Nev; sister Mrs. Etha "Crickett" Carter of Riceville.
He was preceeded in death by parents, Ervie and Stella Adams; brothers, Glen and Hubert Adams.
The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. today in the West Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Byron Gibson officiating. Family and friends will assember at 10 a.m. Thursday in Sherwood Memorial Gardens for interment service. Family will receive friends 6:30-8 p.m. today at Smith Mortuary.
