Lydia Adams Higginbotham, 89, of 605 N. Ohio, died Sunday, Oct 11, 1992, at Allen County Hospital.

The daughter of Jacob and Rosa Ryser Dreyer, she was born Nov. 8, 1902, at Gridley. She moved with her parents to Iola when she was a young girl. She attended the Iola schools and was graduated from Iola High School in 1922.

She married Elmer E. Adams on Jan. 6, 1924. They lived and farmed in the Carlyle area. He died Feb. 19, 1967, and she moved to Iola in 1973. She married Floyd Higginbotham on May 1, 1977.

She was a member of Carlyle Presbyterian Church, American Legion Auxillary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxillary and So and Sew Club.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd; a daughter, Carol Brower, Iola; three step sons, Jack Higginbotham of Mankato, Minn., Jimmie Higginbotham of Fort Scott and John “Tom” Higginbotham, Iola; two grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; five step grandchildren; and nine step greatgrandchildren.

A brother, Albert Dreyer, and a step daughter, Sharon Buss, are deceased.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Waugh-Yokum and Friskel Memorial Chapels, 16 N. Buckeye. The Rev. Paul Life will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
