Ruth E. (Brumbach) Arters, 81, Exeter Township, passed away from natural causes May 3, in Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading. She was a patient at the hospital since April 29.

She was the widow of Kenneth Harold Arters Sr., who passed away on Feb. 8, 2001.

Born in Stonersville, she was the daughter of the late Elda O. (Hoyer) Brumbach and the late Wayne G. Brumbach.

She graduated from Mount Penn High School.

Mrs. Arters worked as an account payable manager at Boscov's East, Exeter Township, for 25 years. She retired in 1993.

She was a member of Friedens U.C.C., Oley, and recently a new member of Schwarzwald U.C.C..

She was a member of Mount Penn Seniors and Exeter Seniors and a 600 Club bowler at Bowl-O-Rama.

In addition, she was an avid Phillies fan.

Surviving are a son, Kenneth H. Arters Jr., husband of Karen M. Arters, of Exeter Township; a daughter, Ruth E. May of Schuylkill Haven; a brother, Maurice, husband of Ellen Brumbach, of Exeter Township; sisters, June, widow of Richard Straka, of Calistoga, Calif., and Shirley, wife of Roger Angstadt, of Oley, and four grandchildren: Garrett, Jennifer, Samantha and Jessica.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 6, at the Dengler Funeral Home Inc., 144 N. Spruce St., Birdsboro.

Interment was in Schwarzwald Cemetery, Jacksonwald.
