Sara Stephenson Varner, 87, formerly of Waynesburg, passed away January 14, 2017 in Leesburg, Fl.
She was born in Waynesburg, Pa, July 17, 1929, a daughter to the late Reed Cooke Stephenson and Mary McNeely Scott Stephenson. Graduated from Waynesburg Central High in 1947. Married James Arthur (Bud) Varner from Kirby, Whitely Township in 1946. They moved to Warren Ohio, then Mecca, Ohio where she lived till 1992. She retired from Packard in Warren, Ohio.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Mrs Thomas (Candace) Asebrook, Leesburg, Fl and Mrs Ernie (Tawna) Brown, Midlothian, Tx, 2 grandsons: Shad (Jennifer) Asebrook, Brentwood Tn and Jerod (Stephanie) Brown, Piedmont, Ok, and 7 great grandchildren: Cheyenne Brown, Sierra Brown, Logan Brown, Caleb Asebrook, Laramie Brown, Makayla Brown and Haylee Brown. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs James (Mildred) Maize from Waynesburg.
Deceased are her husband, James Arthur Varner; a grandson, Wes Brown; and a brother and 3 sisters, Kenneth Stephenson, Gwendolyn Stephenson Cowell, Lucille Stephenson Phillips, and Jean Stephenson Spray.
Burial will be at Claughton Chapel Cemetery.
