Lorna G. Abitz, 89, Duluth, died Monday, June 29, 1998, at Onaga Community Hospital.
She was born January 19, 1909 at Wheaton, Kansas, the daughter of Ferdinand F. and Rosine P. Teske Kufahl. She was a life long resident of the Wheaton and Duluth communities and graduated from Wheaton High School in 1927.
She was married to Richard F. Abitz on March 15, 1928 at Duluth. He preceded her in death June 2, 1995.
Mrs. Abitz was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Duluth, and the St. Paul's Lutheran Women's Missionary League of the church. She and her husband, Richard Abitz, farmed in the Wheaton and Duluth communities.
Survivors include two sons, Martin Abitz, Duluth, and Eldon Abitz, Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Lois Bishop, Salina, and Marilyn Schwartz, Onaga; one brother, Vernon Kufahl, Wheaton; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at Kufahl Funeral Home, Wheaton, and an hour before services Thursday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
