Egbert P. Thompson, 86, of Nellysford, died at 8:50 a.m. yesterday at the University of Virginia Hospital where he had been a patient for three weeks. Mr. Thompson was fondly known as "Pal".Born Aug. 14, 1869, in Nelson County Mr. Thompson was a son of the late Lorenza Dowell and Margaret Small Thompson. He was a well-known farmer in Nelson County and a lifelong member of the Wintergreen Christian Church. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Hettie Davis Thompson on Dec. 9, 1949. Survivors include five sons, Clyde S. Thompson, Garnett P. Thompson, J. Creed Thompson, Wallace M. Thompson, all of Nellysford, and A. Philip Thompson, Waynesboro; one daughter, Mrs. Angus Campbell, and one sister, Mrs. Daisy Thompson, both of Nellysford; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.Body will remain at the Etter Funeral home until Wednesday afternoon. The body will be placed in the Wintergreen Christian Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday where funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Elwood Campbell. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Delmas Davcis, Auldman Campbell, Page Grove, William Hughes, Richard Truslow and Ross Davis. Honorary bearers will be Harry Marshall, George Marshall, Pat Marshall, Jack Marshall, Bland Hughes, Wirt Hughes, John Hughes, B. C. Small, Harmon Small, Alvin Small, Walter Carter, Arthur Ewing, Rodney Thompson, Hoy Truslow, Maury Truslow, Mulford Campbell, Joe Puckett, William D.
