Dr. James E. Turner 82, of St. Charles, died Monday, January 29, 2007 at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. He was born September 20, 1924 in Beloit, Wisconsin, the son of Clarence L. and Inez Irene (Kissner) Turner.

Dr. Turner was a graduate of Evanston High School in Evanston with high honors. He continued his education, graduating in 1945 from Northwestern University and he received his medical degree in 1948.

He specialized in Radiology and was in the Nuclear Medicine Department for 20 years at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst. He published a book and ten papers on Radiology.

During the Korean War, he served as a Captain in the Army Medical Corps in Korea and Japan.

Dr. Turner was an accomplished musician and composer. He played the clarinet and wrote shows for high school, college, and continued composing on a home synthesizer and writing scores.

He is survived by his children, Glenn Turner, Lee Anne (Tom Lundquist) Turner, Jeffrey Turner and Paula (Paul Stuck)Turner; five grandchildren, Sarah (Adam)Jaekes, Crystal, Jessica and David Stuck and Elissa Lundquist and his sister, Dorothy Reed of Palo Alto, CA.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Blanche, whom he had been married to for 54 years.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at the Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third Street (3 blocks west of the Fox River and 1 block south of Rt. 64) St. Charles. Burial will be in North Cemetery, St. Charles.
