Lester Perry

Lester Perry, 86, of 1144 Hillcrest Rd., Wellsville, died Friday at 3:15 p.m. in City Hospital where he had been a patient since Oct. 31. Mr. Perry was born in Marietta, June 2, 1980, a son of Henry S. Perry and Rebecca J. Barnhart Perry. At one time, he had been employed at the American Sheet and Tin Plate Co. until the plant closed. He then transferred to a plant in Canton where he retired in 1955 with 17 year's service. He was a charter member of the Hillcrest Community Club, the Golden Links Senior Citizens, Eastern Star Lodge 417 and the White Shrine of Jerusalem. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 180 and the Royal Arch Masons, all of Wellsville. Besides his widow, Mrs. Minnie Allison Perry, whom he married Dec. 21, 1931, survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William (Ruth) Williams of Wellsville RD; a stepdaughter, Betty Waggoner of Las Vegas, Nev.; a stepson, Robert Lockhart of Canton; nine grandchildren and 31 great - grandchildren. Services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the MacLean Funeral Home in Wellsville with the Rev. John Dryer of the Covenant United Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery, Wellsville. Friends may call at the home tonight and Sunday afternoon and night. Masonic services will be conducted Sunday at 8 p.m.
