Catherine "Cay" Merryman, 83, died Nov. 2, 2008, in New Hope, Minn.

Cay Merryman was born April 15, 1925, to John E. and Edna Brading Genson of Lenox. At age 2, she moved with her parents to Truro where she lived for the next 16 years, graduating from Truro High School in 1942. Her marriage to Jack Wayne Merryman took place June 12, 1943, in Rockport, Mo. While her husband served in the United States Army overseas, Cay resided in Columbia, S.C., San Diego, Calif., and Bellingham, Wash. She served as the director of the FHC in Fargo for seven years. In 2007, Cay became a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by her husband and an infant daughter, Susan Ann.
