Walter was born in Oakland California on October 8th, 1932, to Mamie (Jones) Justus and Walter Henty Justus Sr. He was Mamie's only child, Walter Sr. had several children from a first marriage.
They lived in Oakland and Berkeley all of their married life. Walter was a happy well loved child with many talents. He sang on the radio as a child and in high school was a Golden Groves Boxer. He graduated from Castlemont High School.
Walter became a sheet metal apprentice and served in the Navy for four years (two years active and two years inactive except on weekends). After active duty he returned to his apprenticeship and graduated to Journeyman in 1956.
In 1954 [24 October, 1954], Reno, Nevada] he married Patricia Faulkner. This union was blessed with six children and they lived in Concord, California from 1955 until his death in 1971.
In 1961, Walter went into business with his best friend, Richard (Dick & Skeets) Dortzbach. They started Contra Costa Metal Fabricators Inc and continued their partnership until Walters death in 1971.
Walter enjoyed many activities, he loved to fish, vacation at their cabin in South Lake Tahoe, umpiring little league baseball games, square dancing, playing cards with friends, SiFi movies, Star Trek, repairing automobile motors, playing with his children and going to church and church activities.
