William George Dickman, Sr., a member of the Illinois house of representatives for two terms and a member of the Madison County board of supervisors over 25 years ago,
died at his home west of town in Edwardsville township Friday evening at 11:40 o'clock. Death was due to complications following a gradual decline in health.
A life-time resident of this vicinity, he was born on February 26, 1866, at Peter's Station and had attained the age of 72 years, 9 months and 27 days. He was the son
of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Dickman. He was married to Miss Eva Beatty on September 15, 1896, at St. Elizabeth's Catholic church in Mitchell, by the late Rev.
Kinders. Mr. Dickman was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife and seven children. They are Misses Alice and Ruby Dickman and William Jr., George and Ralph Dickman, all at home, and Mrs. Catherine Moser and
Mrs. Stella Meyer, both of Edwardsville. One daughter, Eva, died in 1921. Ten grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the Straube Funeral Home and at 9 o'clock at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Rev. E.J. Eckhard will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery.
