Mrs. Mary Effie Crippen, widow of William Crippen, died yesterday evening at 5 o'clock on her sixty-second birthday anniversary. Death was due to a complication of diseases and followed two years of illness, although her condition did not become serious until a few weeks ago.

Mrs. Crippen spent the early part of her life in the Rugby community where she was a member United Brethren church. Following the death of her husband two years ago, she went to Elizabethtown where she made her home with her sister, Mrs. Flora Wilbur. She changed her church membership to the Elizabethtown Methodist and was faithful in her attendance and active in the church work as long as her health permitted. She had many friends.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Wilbur, Mrs. Ed Holton and Mrs. Charles Guinn, of the Elizabethtown community, and two stepchildren, Harvey Crippen, of Connersville, and Mrs. Bertha Coen, of Anderson. Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 10:30 o'clock at the Elizabethtown Methodist church, conducted by the Rev, J.B. Fletcher. Burial will be made in the Donaldson cemetery.
