Charles Henry Blakeman, 71, died Thurs., 20 May at the Veteran's Hospital in Lexington. He was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church. He united in marriage to Pauline Darnell in 1936 and she preceded him in death in 1964. Mr. Blakeman is survived by 1 foster son, Melvin Blakeman, Louisville; 1 brother, Mose Blakeman, Ashland, Ill., and 3 foster-granchildren. Mr. Blakeman was a retired farmer and carpenter of the russell Community of Green Co., and served in the US Army during WWI. The funeral service was held at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home at 2:00 pm Sat., 22 May with burial in the Greensburg Cem. Rev. Elvin Clark officiated. Pallbearers were Lynn Taylor Blakeman, Bobby Blakeman, Buck Carnell, Junion Stearman, Elmer Darnell and Mike Blakeman. [SSDI: B: 23 July 1893; D: May 1965]
