Katherine M. Wright Tilford, 80, died Sunday [Nov. 20, 1988] in her Lafayette residence. Born Aug. 25, 1908, in Lafayette, she graduated from Jefferson High School. Her marriage was May 29, 1932, at Columbia City, to Marvin J. Tilford, an Alcoa employee who died Oct. 30, 1971.
Mrs. Tilford, a lifelong Lafayette resident, was a charter member of Lafayette Chapter, Sweet Adelines.
Surviving are two sons, James J. Tilford of Lafayette and John R. Tilford of West Lafayette; a daughter, Jane (Mrs. George) Steckler of Beechwood, OH; two sisters, Mrs. Lorena Ewald of Albuquerque, NM, and Mrs. Martha Waterbury of McAlester, OH; one brother, John H. Wright of Lawton, OK; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a grandson.
