J.F. Witcher, father of Mrs. J.T. Marrs, died at the home of Mr. Marrs at 5:45 ?.m. Tuesday at the advanced age of 90 years and one day. ? had been in feeble health for several years, and his death was ? to no other than natural causes ? to a ripe old age.
Mr. Witcher was born May 28, 1827 and came to Texas from Mississippi in 1890, locating in Milam county, and moving to Rockdale in 1891, where he had continued to reside. He was a member of the Christian denomination.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Revs. W.E. Copeland and C.?. Andrews officiating, the interment being at the Old City Cemetery. Rockdale Reporter and Messenger, May 31, 1917
