Viola was the second child born to Jesse Wilson and Anna May Elliott. Her family moved around a great deal. Her father was born in Niota and her mother in Otoe county, Nebraska. After they married, in Jewell county, Kansas, they returned to Illinois where Viola was born. According to the census, they were in Fillmore County, Nebraska in 1910, and that is undoubtedly how Viola and Fred met. Her parents then moved to Leavenworth County, Kansas; Viola married Fred on December 31, 1920 at Leavenworth. They had three children:
Lambert (1922-2002, died in Tampa, Florida);
Lila Lee (1926-2000, married John Miller McVay, buried in this cemetery);
and Wilma.
