Funeral services for Della J. Wassom, 88, of Wagoner, were at 10 a.m. Monday, graveside, at Elmwood Cemetery, Wagoner, Oklahoma. Officiating was the Rev. Roy Brown.
Mrs. Wassom was born October 1, 1905 in Oxford, Nebraska. She died Thursday, September 29, 1994, at Muskogee Regional Medical Center.
She had been a long-time resident of Oklahoma, moving here in 1910 with her parents settling in Mazie. Her father, the Rev. A. I. Shannon, established the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Wagoner. She was married to George W. Wassom on December 17, 1924. They were both active in the ministry most of their adult lives.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Faye Beller of Wagoner; a grandson, Darwin Dryden of Nashville, Tennessee; a granddaughter, Teresa Fenimore of Tulsa; and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Wassom was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Wassom in October 1993; by her parents; a son, George Alvin Wassom; and a daughter, Glenda Mae Wassom; three brothers, Hubert, Edgar and Dayton Shannon; and four sisters, Myrtle Dean, Izola Nuckolls, Ada Mae Mayo and Goldena Boyle. Services and interment in Elmwood Cemetery were directed by Mallett Funeral Home, Wagoner.
