Funeral services for Lois Lela Johnson will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Oakdale Church of Christ with Brother Danny Broussard and Brother Joel Johnson officiating.
Committal service will follow in the Pecan Grove Cemetery at Cypress Creek under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Lois, 92, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Thursday, February 2, 2017 in Oakdale. She was born August 3, 1924 in Sugartown to the union of Robert Adam Vickers and Alice Eola (McFatter) Vickers. She was a member of the Oakdale Church of Christ.
Throughout her life, Lois worked at various jobs; the Ville Platte Sweet Potato Cannery, Allen Parish School Cafeteria, and as a cook at the Oakdale Community Hospital. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benoist E. Johnson; four brothers, Mason Vickers, Rudloph Vickers, H.P. Vickers, and Houston Vickers; one sister, Robbie Martin; and one grandchild, James Kevin Aldridge.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are: two sons, Wayne B. (Joyce) Johnson and Robert E. (Sandra) Johnson both of Oakdale; two daughters, Caryline (Dalton) Cloud and Aline (James) Aldridge both of Oakdale; five brothers, Henry Vickers of Nederland, Texas and Nay Vickers of Moss Bluff; five sisters, Nonnie Lee Manuel, Margrette Mancil, and Bonnie Mae Darby all of Oakdale, Doris Gonzales of Channelview, Texas and Sue LeFleur of Eunice; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers to serve will be Jason Cloud, Bill Lindsey, Robert Johnson, Steven Aldridge, Jerry Mancil, Brock Elliott, and Michael Johnson. Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Wyatt Johnson, Cruz Elliott, Gavin Elliott, Sam Johnson, Ben Johnson, and Adrian Vernon.
Visitation will be held at White Oaks Memorial Chapel, Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m., then on Sunday, February 5, 2017 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. Visitation will resume at the Church of Christ in Oakdale on Sunday, February 5, 2017 from 12 noon until time of service at 2 p.m. in the church.
