Funeral services for Mrs. Bonnie Mae Darby will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Mt. Hope Baptist Church, Oakdale, with Reverend Brian Johnson officiating, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Mrs. Darby, 84, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at High Hope Care Center, Sulphur, LA.

Bonnie was a loving mother and grandmother. She was very creative and enjoyed crafting. She loved traveling and spending time with her family. She was also an avid reader and was an extremely generous person. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Alice Vickers; five brothers, Houston Vickers, Mason Vickers, Rudolph Vickers, Henry Vickers, and Huey Vickers; and three sisters, Robbie Martin, Lois Johnson, and Doris Gonzales.

Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include one son, Tory Darby of Oakdale; one daughter, Sharon Dugas (Don) of Lake Charles; one brother, Nay Vickers, Sr. (Irene) of Carlyss; three sisters, Nonnie Manuel of Bond, Margaret Mancil of Oakdale, and Sue LaFleur (Gerald) of Eunice; two grandchildren, Victoria Poullard and Alyssia Darby; and four great grandchildren, Brayden Darby, Aisliegh Poullard, Bree Poullard, and Kynsten Poullard.

A time of visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale, on Friday, January 12, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at Mt. Hope Baptist Church, Oakdale, on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
