"Mrs. Katheryn I. West, 70, of 3518 N.E. Monterey St., died Sunday at the home. She was born in Metropolis, Ill., and had lived in Kansas City 48 years. Mrs. West was a dental assistant for 23 years before she retired in 1980. She was a member of the Avondale United Methodist Church. She leaves her husband, Roy S. West of the home; a brother, Robert Fry of Lantana, Fla.; and a sister, Mrs. Jewell Bailey of Kansas City. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the McGilley Antioch Chapel; burial in White Chapel Cemetery." The Kansas City Times, March 28, 1983
