The Recitation of the Rosary along with the Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 6, at 5:30 p.m., in Mary's Chapel at St. Francis Church. Evelyn was born in Bakersfield on November 10, 1915 to Guadalupe and Ramona Valenzuela; she was the youngest of 12 children. She taught herself how to play the Banjo, Piano and the Accordion at a young age. Evelyn was employed by Fairfax School District where she worked as a teacher's aide at Fairfax Elementary and was last employed at Virginia Avenue School where she retired at age 82. She was a member of the Kern Medical Center Auxiliary for over 20 years and worked at the Snack Bar during the summer for the Fairfax Baseball Association until she retired. After the death of her sister, Charlotte, Evelyn took in her niece, Sandra, and raised her as her own. Sandra and Patsy's kids loved to take Evelyn to the amusement parks with them because she was the only one who would ride all the roller coasters with them. She is survived by her son, Jim and wife, Terri Albitre; her daughter, Sandra and husband, Sam Trincado; granddaughters, Roena and husband, Mike Thomas, Pilar Trincado; grandsons, Angel Trincado and fiancée, Amber Jones, Javier and wife, Elena Trincado; great-grandson, Cody Thomas; many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was loved by many who will greatly miss her phone calls, the way she drove her car, her brown-brown hair and her musical concerts. Evelyn M. Albitre Nov. 10, 1915 - May 23, 2008
