Mary Elizabeth Tucker Cherry, 69, of the 2100 block of Tallyho Terrace, a retired secretary, died May 8, 1994, in Raleigh.
Mrs. Cherry was born in Henderson, N.C. She was the widow of Alonzo L. Cherry and was also predeceased by Donald E. Meeks. She was retired from the Army Corps of Engineers and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Norfolk, T.E. Landis Bible Class 23509, Elizabeth Fairbanks Circle, Margaret Patterson Women's Club and Ocean Park Women's Club.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy M. Harrison of Cary, N.C.; one son, John Tucker Meeks of Chesapeake; two grandchildren, Cathy Harrison and Anne Harrison, both of Cary, N.C.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Robert A. Edwards. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 3031 Luxembourg Ave., Norfolk.
