Walter Towler, Jr., born on October 31, 1938 in Prairie Grove, AR, went to be with his lord and savior on Friday, March 20, 2009 in Oklahoma City, OK, at the age of 70. Walter, the son of Walter Herman and Lillie Mae (Edwards) Towler, was a resident of Chandler. He married Carol Burns on March 31, 1961 in Jones, OK. Walter worked as a carpenter, having owned a construction company for many years. He attended the First Baptist Church in Wellston, OK, and worked as a Lincoln County reserve deputy. His parents, one son, and one brother preceded Walter in death. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Carol, of the home son & daughter-in-law, Howard & Kathy Towler of Midwest City, OK brothers, Lee Towler of Oklahoma City, OK, Harold Towler of Monnett, MO, and John Towler of McAlester, OK sister, Mae Riddle of Harrah, OK granddaughter, Christiane Towler of Rogers, AR other relatives and many friends. Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 23, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Kellerby Cemetery in Prague, OK. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
