Eldon Taft Teeples "Master Craftsman" SUNSET- Eldon Teeples, 73, Husband, Father, Grandpa, Brother and Friend, passed away peacefully at home on July 4, 2007 during recovery from heart surgery. He was born July 5, 1933 in Bicknell, Utah (Wayne County) to loving parents Howard and Myrtle Taft Teeples. He spent his happy childhood in a place he loved, Wayne County. His family moved to Brigham City in 1950, where he graduated from Box Elder High School in 1951. His senior year he worked at Maddox Ranch House. He also worked at DDO, Ogden, 1951-1952. Eldon married Shirlee Murray on June 2, 1952, a daughter of Henry B. and Mary Darley Murray of Wellsville, Utah. He and his family spent eight years in Green River, Utah, moving to Sunset in 1965. Eldon loved RVing with special friends and spent winters in Arizona. He loved John Wayne and Western Music. Most of his adult life Eldon worked as a cabinet maker for "Western Mill and Fixtures", then his own construction partnership "West-Teeples and Sons". Eldon loved working with wood and after retiring in 1995, he built many birdhouses for his family and many friends, he was truly a "Jack of all trades".
Survived by his wife, Shirlee and his three children, Kathy (Scott) Lamond, Parker, CO; Kelly (David) Webster, Syracuse; Scott (Lollie) Teeples, Layton. Eldon is also survived by a dear brother Leland (Ludean) Teeples, Richfield; three loving sisters, Myrna (Dean) Behunin, serving a mission in Slovakia, Phyllis (Morris) Ercanbrack, Orem; Shirley (Carl) Shepherd, serving a mission in Albania; 11 wonderful grandchildren, Kirk Judson, Amy (Jon) Wight, Eric (Ashley) Lamond, Michelle (Ricky) Bangerter, Melissa (Wynn) Erickson, Adam Teeples, Jason (Erin) Webster, Chad Lamond, Stefanie (Rich) Rogers, Tyler Teeples, Kylee Teeples; 12 great-grandchildren, Michaela, Bailee, Sage, Kenadee, Scotty, Hunter, Gracelyn, Curtis, Corwynn, Eliza, Jade and Jacob.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
"He Never Met a Stranger" Funeral services will be held Mon., July 9, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah. A viewing will be held Sunday July 8, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m., and Monday prior to the services 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment Syracuse Cemetery, 1290 S. 1000 W., Syracuse, Utah.
