DAUGHTER OF PALMYRA RESIDENTS DIES
Mrs. Lillie Adams, 51, wife of Charles Adams, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Tate of Palmyra, passed away at her home near Lentner, at 7:30 a. m.. Sunday, December 6. She had been in failing health for about three years.
Mrs. Adams was born north of Palmyra, January 23, 1902 [sic], and attended Todd and Bates schools during her girlhood.
Surviving with her husband and parents are six children, Mrs. Stanley Wheelock of San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Sidney White and Mrs. Glen Butler of Lentner community; Eva Lou and Dean of the home and Leroy Adams who is in service.
She also leaves the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Sam Harter of Waukegan, Ill., Mrs. John Vancil of Quincy, Marion Tate of Rock Island, Ill., Mrs. Joe Childers of San Francisco, Calif.; Robert and Leo Tate of Manhatten Beach, Calif., and Mrs. R. C. Van Houten of Hannibal.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Oak Ridge Baptist church in Shelby county with the Rev. John W. Golden of Hannibal in charge. Burial was in the church cemetery.
