Edith J. Swanson was born in Klemme, Iowa, September 22, 1914 and was the daughter of Oscar and Anna Sospshia (Dahlgren) Swanson.
On March 11, 1937 she married Reuben John Lemke and they farmed west of Klemme on the home place of R. R. Lemke until 1960, when the had a farm sale and the whole family moved to Long Beach, Calilfornia. In the seventies, Edith worked as a School Crossing Guard. After Reuben Passed away in 1982, she moved to Leisure World in Seal Beach.
Edith is survived by a son, Gordon (Joan) Lemke, and two grandsons, Gordond Jr. and Ron and a granddaughter Lori, of Garden Grove, Calilfornia. A daughter, Beverly (Dennis) Morrison and a grandson, Dwayne and a granddaughter, Teresa of Garden Grove, California. A daughter, Audrey (Merlyn) Olson, and three granddaughters, Doni, Denette and DeAnn of Santa Maria, California. A daughter Kathleen (Hank) Dodson, and two granddaughters, Lynette and Lisa, of Grand Terrace, California. A son Herschle (Tina) Lemke, of Concord, California.
Also two sisters, Ethle Haynes, of Hemet, California and a sister Phyllis (Karl) Loeffler, of Ocala, Florida.
She was prceded in death by her parents and her husband , Reuben in 1982.
