Alice E. Stroik, 89, of Stevens Point, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2016, at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital.
She was born on July 4, 1926, in Stevens Point, to the late Henry and Catherine (Ramczyk) Hoppa. She was married to Thomas Krupka on Sep. 8, 1945. He died on Nov. 29, 1981. She later married Sylvester Stroik on April 28, 1990. They had celebrated their 25th Anniversary in April of 2015.
Alice enjoyed crocheting, painting, sewing, dancing, traveling, gardening, flowers, playing bingo and cards. She belonged to the Senior Group in Plover, the St. Anne's Society at St. Joseph Parish; she sang in the Resurrection Choir and the Adult Choir for many years at church and also sang with the Sunshine Choraliers at the Lincoln Center.
She had worked as a cook at the Holiday Inn and St. Michael's Hospital and also worked at Marathon Fly Factory, retiring in 1982.
Survivors include her husband, Sylvester of Plover; children, George Krupka of White Lake, and Elaine Trelka of Junction City; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is further survived by her step-children, Cornell (Elsie) Stroik of Oak Creek, Michael (Grace) Stroik of Milwaukee, and Charlotte (Jim) Harvath of Plover; four step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; brother, Stanley (Inga) Hoppa; and sisters, Phyllis Klesmith and Delores (Richard) Janick; and many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stevens Point. The Rev. Dennis Stanchik will officiate. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time for Mass.
