CUERO - Dorothy Elaine Striedel Lane, 65, of Cuero, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009. She was born April 17, 1943, in Victoria, to the late John Albert Striedel and Elsie Clara Kirchner, both of Cuero. She married J.H. "Sonny" Lane on Sept. 21, 1961, in Callan. She was house supervisor for HMHR Services Gulf Bend and a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, gardening, crocheting, canning, and most of all, spending time and making memories with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years; sons, Mark Anthony Lane and wife Jennifer D. Lane of Victoria, and Richard Alan "Scooter" Lane and wife Pamela G. Lane of Cuero; sisters, Barbara and Vincent Warzecha of Cuero, Danny and Sharon Strain of Seguin, Susan and Joe Wade of Waco, and Gene Shows of Cuero; brothers, Roland and Patsy Striedel of Cuero, Charles and Joyce Striedel of Cuero, and Butch and Mary Ann Striedel of West Point; grandchildren, Sonny Alan Lane, Aaron Anthony Lane, Lucas Damian Lane, all of Cuero, Amy Michele Lane, Cassie Marie Lane, Kayla Carolina Fullingim, and Richard Allen Fullingim, all of Victoria; and lifelong friend, Carol Sue Jordan of Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elsie Striedel; and brothers, Norman Striedel, Sonny Striedel, and Dalton Striedel.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2009, at Freund Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Freund Funeral Home Chapel, with Ryan Ritzmann officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Scooter Lane, Mark Lane, Forrest Striedel, Wayne Hill, Cory Pargmann, and Darren Strain.
