GEORGETOWN, IDAHO - David Allen Stoddard, 52, passed away near his home at Georgetown, Idaho, on Friday, May 30, 2003.

He was born June 20, 1950, in Soda Springs, Idaho, to Carl and Elsie Gray Stoddard. He married Deborah Hayes in Georgetown in 1972. To this union four children were born: Shawna Marie, Elizabeth Ann and twins David Willard and Adam Wilford. They were later divorced. He later married Pauline Dursteler Wiebelhaus in Georgetown on Feb. 4, 1994, and she brought three children into the marriage. They are Margie, Rochell and Dean.

David was raised on the Stoddard ranch and worked there all of his life, finally buying out his parents when they retired. He enjoyed years of working with the sheep and helping his dad on the ranch. He was an excellent son. He was a founding member of the Georgetown Lions Club and was very instrumental in getting it started. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. Besides his work on the ranch, he also working as a heavy equipment operator. David enjoyed his children and grandchildren and family gatherings. He was a hardworking, respected man who was loved and will be missed by his many friends and loved ones.

David is survived by his wife, Paulene, and his parents Carl and Elsie Stoddard of Georgetown, four children, Shawna Stoddard, and Elizabeth (Michael Allen) Pettit both of Challis, Idaho, David of Georgetown, Adam with the US Army in Germany, three step-children, Margie (Kurt) Mueller of Eagle River, Alaska, Rochell (Troy) Bailey of Renton, Washington, Dean (Terra) Weiblehaus of Soda Springs, eight grandchildren, two sisters, Kathleen (Jim) Hutchinson of Gooding, Idaho, Linda (Allyn) Phelps of Bennington, Idaho and nine nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at noon in the Georgetown LDS Chapel. Friends may call to visit with family members at Matthews Mortuary on Tuesday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.

Burial will be in the Georgetown Cemetery.
