Eunice (Euna/Una) Edna Stanbery was the ninth of 17 children born to Van Buren & Minty (Bond) Stanbery. Her paternal grandparents were Nathaniel & Samantha (Oglesby) Stanbery and her maternal grandparents were James Abner & Mathilda "Jane" (Herndon) Bond. Euna was born in Hill County, Texas, although Van Zandt County is where her family lived before and after their short stay in Hill County. Euna's name was usually pronounced "Unie."

Euna first married Franklin Dossy ("Gibb") Gore on Oct. 29, 1915. Gibb and Euna raised 10 children together, all in Van Zandt County. After Gibb's death in 1954, Euna married James Brummett.
