Funeral services for Carol (Jerry) Almon, 80, are scheduled for Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Custar officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Ardmore.

Jerry was born January 8, 1931, in Ardmore to James and Ora Keen Spurlock. She went to be with her Lord on September 10, 2011, in a local hospital. She and A.N. (Shorty) Almon were married in Gainesville, Texas, on June 23, 1948. He preceded her in death on June 18, 2000.

Jerry worked for a number of years for Wallace, Farabough, and Pasley Attorneys-at-Law before she became the Secretary to the City Manager in Ardmore for many years. While employed by the city she also designed the logo for the City of Ardmore that is still in use today. She was also an active member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher.

She is survived by her children, Carol Denise Willingham and her husband Paul, of Ardmore, Terry Lee Almon and his wife, Lori of Durant, Gary Don Almon and his wife, Lanette of New Albany, Indiana and Jana Demory of Ardmore; one sister, Betty Almon of Ardmore. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Deah Turner and her husband, Jeremy, Brandon McCann and his wife, Sara, Danielle Franklin and her husband, Robert, Stewart Almon, J.T. Almon and wife, Paula, Josh Demory, Jordan Demory, McKenzie Almon, Mallory Almon, Madison Almon, Morgan Almon, Macee Almon; great-grandchildren, Brady Grace Turner, Rylan Almon, Andrew, Cayden and LeeAnn Franklin, Kilynn McCann.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and her siblings, Paul Spurlock, June Gerholt, Margaret Holder, Jackie Johnson, Nancy Avant, Marcia McClaine and Alice Holt.

Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers, McKenzie Rae Almon, Mallory Paige Almon, Madison Joy Almon, Jordan Demory, Josh Demory, J.T. Almon and honorary bearers will be the Deacons of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Memorials may be left to the Emmanuel Baptist Church Building Fund or Faith Hospice
A family visitation will be held at the Craddock Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 7 to 8.
