Born July 23, 1920, in Minier to Robert Lee and Hester Ann (Bratcher) Smith, she married William R. Denny on July 19, 1941, in Clayton, Mo. He died April 13, 1961, in Pekin. She later married Benjamin H. Bauman on Oct. 19, 1974, in Pekin. He died Oct. 14, 1990, in Pekin.
She also was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and four sisters.
Surviving are two sons, Steven R. (Ileana) Denny of Bonne Terre, Mo., and Jack W. (Carolyn) Denny of Hanover Park; her former daughter-in-law, Lorryl Denny-Padron of Naperville; one stepson, David A. Bauman of Pekin; two stepdaughters, Emily Ann (Ronald) Weyhrich of Pekin and Mary Ellen (Donald) Bevenour of Washington; and one sister, Lena Stephenson of Hopedale.
Dorothy worked in the bottling department at American Distilling Co. in Pekin for 17 years, retiring in 1979.
She was a faithful member of First Christian Church in Pekin for more than 50 years, where she belonged to the Christian Women's Fellowship. She also was a member of the Pekin Hospital Auxiliary, the Pekin YWCA and the Pekin Community Concert Association.
Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
