Lynn A. Skabelund.
October 24, 2008.
Born into a loving family on March 28, 1915, Lynn August Skabelund was the second son of Jacob Ephraim and Lola Ann Bissegger Skabelund. He graduated from Logan High School and LDS Seminary in 1935. Uncle Howard and Dad farmed together and also ran a service station for several years in Logan. It was during this time that he met and courted Anna Laura Nelson. They were married on Sept. 14, 1938, in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they shared more than 50 years of love and formed many lasting memories.

Dad served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. After the war ended he came home and started his construction business. He was a contractor for 50 years and developed many beautiful subdivisions in the Logan area.

Anna passed away on Sept. 6, 1990. Dad was lost without our Mother, but in January 1992 he remarried to a dear friend, Gwen Pehrson. Gwen filled a very large void in his life and we will forever be grateful to her and her family for loving us. Together they served a mission at Temple Square in SLC, built a cabin in Maple Creek and toured Cache Valley. Gwen passed away in 2003. Dad lived with his three children for a year and then moved to Williamsburg Retirement Community.

He is survived by his three children, Lynda Ann (Melvin) Sadler, Carol Jean (Val) Kemp, Craig Nelson (Debbie) Skabelund, and a foster son, Richard (Chris) Toledo. He was also blessed with 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, a precious number 20 due any day. Dad's only living sibling, Dr. Robert E. Skabelund, lives in Logan. His oldest brother, J. Howard, a baby brother, Peter, and only sister, Lola, preceded him in passing. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Milton R. Nelson. Most important in the life of our Mother and Dad was their family. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
