She was a daughter of the late Rev. Vance and Dora King Simmons.
She was predeceased by her husband, Newman Babson; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She is survived by five sons, William A. “Bunny” Babson and wife Shirley, Bolivia, NC, Norvan Babson and wife Jean, Nakina, NC, Harold Babson and wife Jettie Mae, Nakina, NC, Danny Babson and wife Teresa and Darious Babson and wife Stella, Ash, NC; one daughter, Jane Carol Powell and husband Floyd, Nakina; three brothers, Leavy Simmons, Lendon Simmons and James Simmons, all of Ash, NC; three sisters, Vada Hewett, Zella Mae Simmons, both of Ash, NC, and Nellie Johnson, Bolivia, NC.
