Hazel Martin East

Hazel Martin East, 77, died Thursday at her home in Oldsmar, Fla.

Born on Nov. 21, 1919, in Somerset, Ky., she was the daughter of Oscar and Jeanette (Thompson) Silvers.

She married Dorance East, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. East was a former resident of Bloomington and had worked in retail sales for many years.

She was a member of the Countryside Baptist Church, Clearwater, Fla.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Horstman, Shelbyville, and Wanda Sciscoe, Oldsmar; a son, Newton "Ike" Martin, Bloomington; a sister, Ruby Wilson, Bloomington; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, two sisters and two brothers.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Allen Funeral Home, Bloomington.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. William Sciscoe officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens, Bloomington.
