"Marilyn E. Adams, 66, of Zearing, died Wednesday of pneumonia at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Story County, Iowa. Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing. Burial will be in Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg.
Marilyn E. Adams was born on Aug. 11, 1933, in Murray, Clarke County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Alvin and Delores (Droper) Shepherd.
She lived in Cedar Falls until her retirement in 1988. She then moved to McCallsburg. She worked as a purchase order clerk of the University of Northern Iowa. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg.
She is survived by one son, Alan Adams of Ames; one daughter, Becky Kriz of Kimberly, Wis.; five grandchildren; three brothers, Alvin Shepherd of McCallsburg, Larry Shepherd of Duluth, Minn., and David Shepherd of Greeley, Colo., and four sisters, Patricia Jacobsen of Cedar Falls, Sharon Doty of Ames, Carol Bennigton of Volga and Kathy Shepherd of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Visitation with the family present is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing.
