He enjoyed the outdoors and camping and was an avid cat fisherman. Shepherd's survivors include his wife Jean Shepherd; children Sherry Perry, Marilyn Johnson, and Teresa Pitts; a sister Rosalie Grimes; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
