She was born Aug. 10, 1915, in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Francis and Caroline McCarthy. In 1934, she married Lawrence Selzer.
She was a resident of the Marengo area for the past four years and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia (the late John "Jack") Sullivan of West Dundee, Shirley (the late Charles "Charlie") Becker of Marengo, Beverly (the late William) Resch of Madison, Wis., Joyce (Bruce) Boehlen of New Berlin, Wis., and Judy (Van) Nelson of Hiram, Ga.; 19 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Lawrence, on June 29, 1990; her granddaughters, Alyssa, Sage and Caitlyn Nelson; two brothers and four sisters.
The visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, until the 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass is celebrated in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 323 N. Taylor St., Marengo. The Rev. Richard Russo will officiate. Entombment will follow in Windridge Memorial Park Cemetery, Cary.
