Dolores grew up in Pendleton, graduating from Pendleton High School in 1946. While a freshman at Oregon State she met the love of her life, Robert Schiewe. They were married in 1948 and in time became the parents of four children. They remained a strong and loving partnership until Bob's death in 2004.
Dolores and Bob were in the restaurant business most of their married lives, first as managing partners of Gunther's Fireside Restaurant and later at the Pendleton Elks Club. She was an active member of First (now Grace of Christ) Presbyterian Church, volunteering in the office and the kitchen.

She is survived by her four children: Steve (Jean) Schiewe of Yakima; Vik (Steve) Pruitt of Beaverton, OR; Tim (Lori) Schiewe of Sisters, OR; and Eric (Heidi) Schiewe of West Linn, OR.
