Services were 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 3, 2007, at the Clayton Kay-Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Raymond Smith officiating. Interment followed at the Glenwood Cemetery in Alvarado. Visitation with the family was 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 2, 2007, at the funeral home.
Mr. Sanders was born to the late J. W. and Tressie Day Sanders on August 29, 1928 in McAlester, Oklahoma.
Arthur enjoyed fishing, gospel and blue grass music as well as working on cars, going hunting and tractors.
He retired from Northeast Paint & Body in Fort Worth after 19 years.
Arthur was a true family man, loving time spent with them, especially his grandchildren. He leaves behind a great example of love and compassion that will live on for generations.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Billy and Ed Sanders.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Evelyn Sanders of Alvarado, his children, Alan Sanders and Shirley Bench of Godley, Dr. Gary Sanders and Sandy of Fort Worth, Darlene Woods and Bill of Alvarado, Steve Sanders and Susan of Fort Worth, Jim Sanders and Angela of Cleburne and Donna Sanders of Fort Worth; 12 grandchildren, Jason, Jesse and Johnathan Sanders, Aaron and Brett Woods, Callie Wilde, Cody and Casey Sanders, Tiffany and Jennifer Sanders, Emily Sanders and Clayton Sanders; 5 great grandchildren, Bailey, Brooke and Brody Woods and Brice and Riley Sanders; brothers, Roy Sanders of Keller, Thurman Sanders of Cleburne, Eslie Sanders of Rendon and Windell Sanders of Kennedale; sister, Cleta Mize of Aledo and numerous nieces and nephews.
